The name comes from the corruption of "passage" (for the control function on the bridge) in "barco", then in "park". It was also called Tower of the bridge, which is still preserved and had some functionality even during the last war. But Giovanni Da Varano, who built it as one of the pins of the Intagliata, called it "Salvum me fac". Later it was also called Torre dei Bilancioni. The Da Varano coat of arms is still walled up on the north side.

The Pallottas of Caldarola bought it and had the title of Counts of Torre del Parco. Today the building has a naked and imperious might; low is the cottage at right angles with one side along the dark and deep bank of the Potenza; the tower is massive, broken into the roof and floors, from heaven to earth; the ivy clings luxuriantly from the corner towards the Prolaquense. Transformed into a farmhouse, the ancient residence still shows above the lowered arches of a couple of doors terracotta friezes with snappy deer hunts.
