-ACCESSIBLE-

It is certainly the oldest in the district, it was built in 1225 and owes its fame to monastic life, where the rule of Santa Chiara is still observed, who led the Blessed Mattia into it.
Located at the southern end of the city, it also had a defensive function as evidenced by the presence of a high bell tower, dating back to the second half of the 1400s, which certainly served as a sighting place.
The various renovations have substantially changed the original architecture of the thirteenth-century building. The church was rebuilt in 1750, but the last restoration work was the one commissioned by Enrico Mattei.

In the monastery there are precious works of art, including the painted cross, one of the very few thirteenth-century crosses by the Marche author: the elongated crucified figure and the presence of a slight twist of the basin makes the work date to the second half of the thirteenth century , the surrounding figures, the Madonna and San Giovanni, express, in their demeanor, a measured suffering, even if the figure of Christ is triumphant, the Madonna and Child, dating back to the end of the 13th century, is the central part of a single table that provided for the presence of two rotating doors on pins.
