"The Carbonaie Path" is a circular educational trail that from Villa di Montalto, continuing westwards, winds through woods, fields and pastures to return to the town from the south. It intersects the path to Mount Petrella and the road to the Grotta dei Frati. Along the path you can find the "esplanades", that is, spaces used in past eras for the production of coal. Furthermore, along the route it is possible to recognize the various species of vegetation present. The route initially climbs up to an altitude of almost 800 m, and then descends to Villa. Through the Nature path (path of the Sibillini National Park) the path is easily reachable from the Butterfly Garden and from Palazzo Simonelli.
