The Museum is located in Colfiorito, a small mountain resort in the municipality of Foligno located along an important road junction that already connected Umbria, Sabina and the Adriatic coast in ancient times. It exhibits finds from excavations carried out largely in the area of Colfiorito and its Highlands since the sixties of the twentieth century. It is dedicated to the Plestini, a population of Umbrian origin here above all attested in the most mature moment of its development (VII-V century a.C.).The path is organized in thematic sections, where, in addition to illustrative panels and multimedia stations, there are also reconstructions of some contexts of discovery. On the ground floor is the lapidary, composed of finds from the area of the Roman city and the Plestine territory: tanks, frames and columns, but also inscriptions. The first floor is entirely dedicated to the pre-Roman necropolis of Colfiorito, frequented from the ninth to the third century, with the exhibition of kits and two tombs rebuilt in real size.On the second floor are illustrated the settlements and sanctuaries, and in particular the castelliere of Monte Orve and the sanctuary of the goddess Cupra, from which come four bronze plates with inscriptions indicating the divinity as "mother of the Plestini".
