Built between the end of the 12th century and the beginning of the 13th century, the priory church of San Benedetto is located just above the road that connects it to the valley where the capital of Monte Cavallo stands.

The building that was part of a monastery is the only survivor of the Benedictine foundation. The body of the building is aligned with the north-south direction with the entrance facing south. The rectory is located on the east side of the church, while the bell tower rises to the west.

The facade of severe simplicity was partially modified in the eighteenth century when the current rose window was opened. The portal of simple workmanship is surrounded by squared stone blocks.
