Pian Perduto (about 1300m asl) together with Pian Grande, Pian Piccolo and Piano dei Pantani, is one of the four karst plateaus of the Sibillini Mountains National Park, bordered to the north by the Gualdo pass and to the south by the town of Castelluccio di Norcia, now divided between the municipalities of Norcia (PG) and Castelsantangelo sul Nera (MC).

In the winter season, at Pian Perduto, a cross-country ski track is beaten, which extends for a couple of kilometers.
