Monte Cavallo is one of the smallest municipalities in the province of Macerata; in the historic center of the town, with a typical medieval aspect, the bell tower of the parish church and the remains of the tower stand out. It is a scattered municipality with the capital in the locality of Piè del Sasso, which rises at the opening of a narrow gorge enclosed between rocky peaks. In the hamlet of Pantaneto, interesting from the landscape point of view, there is the parish church; also in Selvapiana there is a beautiful parish church, which preserves a cross in silver foil from the 15th century. In Valcadara it is worth visiting the Church of S. Niccolò, which houses a gilded copper cross from the 14th century and a 15th century fresco depicting St. Sebastian; in the locality of Cerreto there is the Church of Cerreto, which contains a Crucifixion and a Madonna by De Magistris. Not to be missed, in Pian della Noce, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, and in San Benedetto, the Church of San Benedetto, once a Benedictine abbey.
