In the heart of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains, of which it houses the headquarters, Visso, on which the Orange Flag flies, is an enchanting mountain center that boasts a past rich in history: the historic center amazes for the succession of imposing walls, towers, medieval houses and balconies, Renaissance noble palaces, stone portals carved with family crests and Latin mottos. All the elements contribute to creating a whole of harmony and grace.

It is part of the association of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

The most representative glimpse, the heart of the village, is the bright and harmonious Piazza dei Martiri Vissani, bordered by elegant fourteenth-sixteenth century buildings. The side of the collegiate church of Santa Maria also overlooks the square: in Romanesque-Gothic forms, built in the 12th century and extensively remodeled in the 13th and 14th centuries, it has an interesting portal with an Annunciation frescoed by Paolo da Visso in the lunette and inside, precious medieval works of art.
